With over 90 percent of our clients being designers, we get to work with some very talented people. As an ideal creative dynamic, we often feed off of each other's passion.

Last month, Andre and Jamie came over to discuss their July wedding and brought Royal and I a stunning gift. Andre, also a graphic designer, created the vibrant Minus The Bear poster for the annual Sasquatch! Music Festival. Andre's attention to detail in this playful illustration makes a vivid and memorable execution. It hangs beautifully in our hallway. Thank you again for the wonderful gift!

Stay tuned for Andre and Jamie's engagement session hitting the blog next week.

    Happy Friday.

It's awesome sharing 'firsts' with my husband, Royal. First blender, iPhones, time out of the country together, etc. This last January, we got our first couch. Beautifully designed with grey wool, perfectly comfortable for streaming Netflix and watching movies together. However, it was missing something until a couple weeks ago.

Knowing that Royal and I love bright colors, clean lines, and subtle texture, our close friend Andy Whitcomb designed us an amazing coffee and end table. As designer and owner of Whitcomb & Company, he embraces the story behind each reclaimed and salvaged material. Whitcomb & Company offer an exceptional level of design and service that has quickly become a rarity.

We were thrilled when Andy brought the tables through our door. No detail was overlooked. As a designer, I can tell you that it's all about the details. And we love that an eco-friendly wood stain was used. Thanks to Andy Whitcomb, we now have our first coffee and end table designed exclusively for us.

The bright legs on your coffee table make me think Bestor Architecture, an LA based firm. Check out the colorful beams in their "house over a wall" home. Hope you love their work as much as I did when I came across it...

As a birthday present from my friends, Jason and Agnes, I received the highly coveted by designers everywhere, NoiseFive.

Attik, the design firm behind the Noise series, collaborates between all four of their studios in creating the experimental concepts to tell their story.

It's more than just a flashy, designer book to add to the shelf. Although, there is something to be said for their insane print finishes that challenge commercial and production realities. It's seeing their self-initiated and free-form composition that inspires me to take more risk as a designer.

Looking closer, I see the underlying tone that design is about laying a foundation in fundamental principles and then knowing when and how to break them. Excellence is consistently making others stop and think, 'I should have thought of that!'

I find the drive to push the line of expectation intoxicating. NoiseFive is just one resource that inspires me along the way.
